PepsiCo is rolling out this new line of drinks now. If I had to pick a favorite flavor, I’d probably go with the Tropical Sunrise, since I’m a fan of pineapple sodas (and Maui Burst is hard to find around here for me) followed by Orange Breeze. I’ve mentioned how several would pair well in a brunch setting, while others would definitely do fine alongside little chocolate donuts or whatever else someone might grab for an on-the-go breakfast (possibly out on the road or such). They are definitely tasty sodas, in a wide variety of flavors, that are diet without tasting diet, and give me that bit of caffeine that I’m looking for when I grab a Dew in the morning anyway. I’m not getting much of one at all, and I appreciate that.īut what of the Rise Energy line as a whole? I’ve been impressed. Speaking of, as with all the Rise Energy line, I think the Dew creators did another fine job hiding the aspartame aftertaste. So, I would say that this is definitely different from LiveWire, more than just making a semi-diet version. I wish I had a mushroom omelette, some whole wheat toast, and a fruit salad right now (what I’ve got is leftover pizza, which is also a damn fine breakfast, if you ask me). This soda is also right there along with it. I mentioned how I thought the Peach Mango Dawn would go well with brunch. It’s almost like if you’re making virgin mimosas with sparkling white grape juice… but a little more artificial. However, considering the extremely fake-tasting orange in most sodas (albeit, a delicious fake-tasting orange), this one does move slightly more towards an actual orange flavor. You’re never going to take a sip and think, “Is this a soda or orange juice?” No. Taking a sip, my honest first thought was, “Mmm, that’s a good orange soda.” Much like how the color is a bit closer to actual orange juice (again, relatively speaking), the flavor is also a bit closer to actual orange juice (again, relatively speaking). The smell is definitely orange soda-like. … … Ok, not really at all, but as I say, it’s closer to it than the color of most orange sodas. It was first leaked via in a Reddit post from user 'FlashPath' on November 6th, 2018, alongside Game Fuel (Charged Original Dew). Game Fuel (Charged Tropical Strike) was a Mountain Dew flavor that was officially released in stores on January 14th, 2019. It almost, kinda, if you squint really hard and ignore the carbonation, is the color of orange juice. Not to be confused with Game Fuel (Tropical Smash). Well, that’s definitely a lot paler yellow compared to the neon orange of LiveWire. But before I can drink it, we need to get to the pour. Considering my love of orange sodas (particularly LiveWire), I have been looking forward to tasting this one. I’m finishing up the line with Orange Breeze. And unless you’re just loading up your morning coffee with a half-cup of sugar as well, soda was definitely tipping the scales at having much more of the white stuff in there. It’s also got less sugar, so it’s not just a sugar buzz you’re on (which can lead to a crash) and overall, it’s good to be consuming less sugar, anyway. Save when you order Mtn Dew Rise Energy Drink Orange Breeze and thousands of other foods from Stop & Shop online. It’s got the caffeine you’re looking for to get you going. The line is aimed at morning soda drinkers (like myself, who doesn’t like coffee or tea). Instead, uses aspartame for zero “added sugar” (beyond what’s in the concentrated grape juice base) But even before that, a brief recap of what the Rise Energy line does different from regular Dew:ĥ% juice drink (the base is concentrated white grape juice). Don’t want to get too ahead of myself as I’ve not even tried this one yet as I’ve started typing up this post. I’ve been rather pleased with the drinks, overall, but I’ll save my general thoughts for the end. It’s the final Dew Review looking at the new Rise Energy line from Mountain Dew and PepsiCo.
